Чарлз Ро́берт Да́рвин (ингл. Charles Robert Darwin; 12 февраль, 1809 — 19 апрель, 1882) — инглиз натуралисы һәм сәйәхәтсеһе, беренселәрҙән булып тере организмдарҙың дөйөм тамырҙан сығып, эволюцияға бирелгәнлеген әйтә һәм дәлилләй. 1859 йылда баҫылған тәүге киң хеҙмәтендә, «Төрҙәрҙең килеп сығышы» тигән китабында, Дарвин эволюция тәбиғи һайланыш һәм аныҡ булмаған үҙгәрештәр нигеҙендә бара, тип яҙа. Ул ваҡытта Англияның ауыл хужалығында йорт ҡоштары һәм сәсеп үҫтерә торған үҫемлектәр ошолай һайлау юлы менән үрсетелгән тигән ҡараш та быға ҡеүәт биреп ебәрә.

Дарвин үҙе тере сағында уҡ ғалимдарҙың күпселеге эволюцияның барлығын таныһа ла, XX быуаттың 30-сы йылдарында эволюцияның синтетик теорияһы килеп сыҡҡандан һуң ғына тулыһынса ҡабул ителә башлай. Дарвин идеялары бөгөн эволюцияның синтетик теорияһы нигеҙендә ята һәм биологиила төрлөлөктө аңлатыу өсөн ҡулланыла. Дарвиндың ортодоксаль шәкерттәре (дарвинизм) тип аталған йүнәлеште артабан дауам итә, үҫтерә.

Чарлз Дарвин 1809 йылдың 12 февралендә Шропшир графлығында Шрюсбери ҡалаһында , Маунт Һаус тип аталған үҙҙәренең нәҫелдән килгән имениеһында тыуа(ингл. Mount House).Атаһы хәлле кеше - табиб һәм финансист Роберт Дарвин, әсәһе Ҡалып:Нп3 (Susannah Darwin), Уэджвуд ғаиләһенән(ингл. Wedgwood). Чарльз атаһы яғынан ғалим-натуралист Эразм Дарвиндың һәм әсәһе яғынан рәссам Джозайя Уэджвудтың ейәне. Ике ғаилә лә унитарианлыҡҡа ыңғай ҡарай, мәгәр Уэджвудтар англикан сиркәүенә йөрөй. Атаһы Чарлзды Англикан сиркәүенә йөрөтөүгә ҡаршы булмай, шул уҡ ваҡытта малайҙың ҡалған биш ағай-энеһе әсәләре менән Унитариан сиркәүгә йөрөй. Һигеҙ йәшендә Дарвинда тәбиғәт тарихына һәм коллекция йыйыуға ҡыҙыҡһыныу уяна.
